Where do the best inventions and innovations come from? Some might chalk it up to good luck or a helpful muse - the truth is, many inventions come from somewhere close to home. On this episode of Inspired Insider, you’ll hear from business leader and innovator, Hussam Al Raimi. In his conversation with Jeremy, Hussam opens up about how he started Fateel, where the idea for a date based snack food company came from, challenges he has faced along the way, and so much more. You’ll want to pay close attention to Hussam’s fascinating story - don’t miss it!

The stories of immigrants are not uncommon among entrepreneurs in today’s marketplace. For Hussam Al Raimi, the longing for a home-based snack led him to the idea that ignited Fateel. During a visit with his friend Fatthi to their home country to Yemen in 2014 – Fatthi’s mom baked the most unforgettable date cookies. With each bite, they could taste the familiar flavours of home, and they realized that nothing that even came close could be found in their new home of Canada. This idea set in motion their plans to create a business that focused on delivering this delicious snack to a North American marketplace.

What has been the biggest challenge for your business over the years? Have you struggled to raise your brand’s presence in the marketplace? How about retaining your customer base? For startups like Fateel, the challenge is just getting someone to take a chance on your new product. Let’s face it; most people are not willing to go out on a limb and try something new - sure some are willing to buck the trend, but most people like to play it safe. Refusing to take no for an answer - Hussam and his team are committed to getting their delicious date cookies in the hands of consumers. Make sure to check out the link to the Fateel website - you just might find your new favorite snack!
